Travel Info
planning a trip in february... any advice?

Travel Tips
St. Thomas is great for shopping, but St. John is better for relaxing. Be sure to eat at Morgan's Mango if you make it to St. John.....it's American fare with a Carribean flair! Delicious!!!

We stayed at the Westin in St. John. Pretty expensive, but worth the price.

St. Thomas is a great place to buy good jewelry cheap, especially Tanzanite.

I love all those islands. The beaches are the main attraction. Find the best beaches and go there, and snorkel if you like it. Rum and liquer is also very good in the virgin islands along with the turks and kakos (I probably spelled kakos wrong.) So that is about all I can think of.
I have been to both St. Thomas and St. John. The beaches are beautiful and its great for snorkeling. If you wish to shop, you'll have your fill of that. You wouldn't have to rent a car because they have buses and a ferry service over to St. John. If you do rent a car you will be driving on the other side of the road and the roads are very narrow and very scary.

Lot's of different places to eat and enjoy the wonderful weather.
Self
St. Thomas is all about shopping, most of the cruise ships dock there. The Green house is a great place for casual dining and dancing in the evening. Most of the great shoping is in downtown Charolette Amalia. There are some nice beaches on the southside close by. If staying on St Thomas, you might think about the northside where things relax a bit. St Thomas has a beautiful golf course. Also on St. Thomas you can charter a catamaran either private or w/ a group. Lot's of fun either way. Of course there is some really good diving/snorkeling. On the east end there is a nice little aquarium, and a few hotels and pubs.

If you are going there to "get away" and relax, then St John is the place to be. Several nice shops, and a few restaurants. If memory serves me St John is 70% national park. Beautiful beaches and just a more relaxed vibe.

Things may have changed since I lived there but both the US and British Virgin Islands hold a place in heart

Best Wishes
J
On St. John- I will keep it simply: Drink, Snorkling, Relax.
