Travel Info How would you descirbe your first vist to Washington D.C.? Travel Tips AWESOME!!!! There is an absolute ton to do & see... Every type of resturant and cusine you could imagine... Bars everywhere from little beer houses to the top nightclubs Athletics and scholarly events to both see and do abound... So many "new people" from all over the nation world you really get to experience a lot of diversity. I liked it so much I moved there!!! Others ummmm, g dogg, no its not... not anymore... I went 2 years ago. Didn't find it much better than any other major city. It has nice landmarks though. Thats easy I have never been To Washington D.C. does that make me unAmerican i dont remember the very first time, cuz i was a baby. i go there often. It was sometime in the 70's, and I was 12 years old. We stood on an incredibly long line around the White House to get in for tours. (No tickets. Also, we had parked on the oval drive outside the White House. Now you know how long ago this was!!!!!!) Our tour of the White House included the State Dining Room, the Blue Room, the Red Room. We also stood on a long line to see the Washington Monument (also before tickets); incredible views from there. We ate hog dogs from vendors aorund the Capital Mall. (That's the same!) There was no museum under the Lincoln Memorial. There was no Vietnam Wall or Korean monument, and certainly no WWII memorial. I've been back many times since. I think D.C. is a very different city than most -- no real skyline, but the monuments make it really beautiful. |
