What are some stores to shop on the National Mall for clothes? |
Travel Info near the National Gallery of Art or the Air and Space Musuem like Hechts or something and an inexpensive place to eat thats not fast food please help me, and my church plan an outting on the mall thanx Travel Tips Union Station (on the red line) is a few blocks from the National Mall, and well, it IS a mall. It might be a little on the expensive side though. There are some areas of DC with great shoppping, but I wish it were spread out a little better. I hope this helps you. Others You do realize that The Mall on Washington is not a mall that contains clothing and small stores, right? The Mall is an open field area that stretches from the Capitol Building to the Washington Monument. Sometimes it is understood that it stretches past the Lincoln Memorial. Many times they have festivals on The Mall, but sometimes there are rallies planned. No Hechts, just a long procession of buildings on either side that house museums. Along with the National Gallery of Art and the Aerospace Museums, some other popular ones are the Natural History Museum, American History Museum (it's closed until late 2008 for renovations), American Indian Museum, and African Art Museum. Within walking distance are the war memorials, archives building, the Holocaust Museum, and the White House. There's a place near there where you can get chicken of the sea chicken sandwiches. |
