Things to do around Columbia, Maryland? |
Travel Info We'll be heading out there for the week of July 2. The 4th is covered, but outside of that, what fun things can we do? What interesting places should we see? Shopping is a no-brainer; I already know where to go. We've done the Smithsonian. We'll make it back to Georgetown too. But what else? Travel Tips Baltimore Inner Harbor. -National Aquarium, Baltimore Science Center. Art Gallerys, Railroad museum. (Slave Museum Inner Harbor East) Outlet malls an hour away in Hanover, PA. Gettysburg, PA 50 min. Amish folks and their buggies. Annapolis Maryland is kind of cute. Harpers Ferry WV. BTW: Concerning the 'reply' below, I'm at Ellicott City, and it's a 10 minute drive up Rt. 29, East on Rt. 40, right onto Rogers Ave, and it'll take you to downtown Ellicott City. Since I'm local to it, - I tend to be 'familiar' with it and don't 'brag' about it. Others Definately make it to Annapolis. It's a really pretty little town with a lot of character right on the water. Lovely place in the summer. Also, a random little spot to spend an afternoon is a place called Ellicot city. It is a nice, old little town with some nice shops and restaurants. Take a ride to Ocean City... a little busy that weekend, but still worth the 3 hour trip ! |
