Great American city. any suggestions? |
Travel Info Hello All, I am a 25 year old female currently living in the DC area. I have lived here mainly all my life and need a change. I would love to find a city where as a female I would feel comfortable and safe, people are genuniely nice and do not care if you are wearing Gucci or Prada, lots of outdoor activities but at the same time a great night life, and a fairly affordable cost of living. really do not have an interest in the north east or mid west. while on this note: Has anyone just up and left? half of my family is here and the other half in CO. But the thing about moving for me is my mother. I am her baby out of five and it is going to be so hard for her. any motivational words to make sure I actually do it? or any suggestions that would make the move easier? thanks for your time. Travel Tips Since you don't like the midwest (Chicago), I'd vote Seattle. It's outdoorsy but hip, it's by the ocean, and the people are genuine. There's world-class education, nightlife, dining, etc. It's by Canada when you want something different for the weekend. It's very, very beautiful. I've lived in all areas of CA and MD, and spent time almost everywhere else in the country. Seattle is like a clean, wholesome version of San Francisco (cheaper too). It's a big enough city that you can get cheap flights to other cities/countries. Source(s): I've heard good things about Santa Fe, too. Never been. I'm going this weekend, so if it's great I'll let you know. Other Travel Tips Memphis is very nice, cheep for a big city, and people are outrageously nice. Look into it. I want to say Buffalo, but it's North East. Atlanta Miami Tampa Not in the Mid-west?? that doesn't leave much, Memphis isn't really what I would call safe! Colorado isn't that bad if you stay in Denver, the 'burbs do suck. Well, you just precluded the best with that statement no Mid west city --too bad Chicago is what you are seeking. Do not mind being a hunk of meat try Dallas--all single woman get that approach there for "awhile'. Try Tucson Az.--slow compared to D.C. and few people know Prada or Coach from WalMart and Penny's-- Living is cheap as they come across each day looking for work, cook, house keeper, etc,.Buy a pair of round trip airplane tickets with open dates so can tell Mom/you will see each other for sure. |
