I Ellicott City in MD a nice place to live? |
Travel Info I might be moving there soon and want to know what the place is like as far as crime, things to do stuff like that. Travel Tips I lived in Ellicott city for a year. It is very nice, low-crime, many things to do: mall in columbia, Baltimore, D.C. Traffic is bad during peak hours. Others A friend of my daughter's lived there for several years and loved it as it was close to Columbia and to Baltimore yet not that far from DC either - low on crime...somewhat family oriented... I was born there. Very family oriented, low crime (ok... this was 15-20 years ago, but I bet it's still true.) Not a ton to do there itself, but it's close to big cities. I don't live in Ellicott City, but I work there. The crime rate is very low, which is true for most of Howard County. As far as things to do.. you have plenty of shopping is Columbia (10 mins away), great night life in Baltimore (20 mins away), and great museums and monuments in DC (30 mins away). The only downfall about the area is the cost of living (the cost of living in MD is high for the most part) My parents and in-laws live in Ellicott City. My husband and I went to high school in Ellicott City. I live and work in Elkridge. Howard County is a great and expensive place to live. I like the answer from xoclipox - Ellicott City is near shopping, night life, and monuments/museums in Washington D.C. www.ellicottcity.net |
