Travel Info
Well I am sure I am going to be learning quite alot, but I would like to know some monuments there, maybe a couple quick facts??

Travel Tips
I live in d.c. and you should expect to see a lot of history go out and see the sights like the capitol and museums and stuff for the smithsonian. Go see a wizards game and go to Gallery Place to go bowling and see a movie it has a nice atmosphere for like teens and people in their 20's

Others
a big buildens
ummm there is the capital building, and the national museum (very interesting museum), national zoo, and ummm the white house..., china town

and some more buildlings :D

i hope that helped
museum most are free, with student id, some cool night club.

famous monuments on The Mall.
I lot of white build, feel like you are on cloud 9. LOL
Walking is easy.
Metro service is great, buy a monthly pass or something it will help you in the long run.

Taxi here in DC is worst part of it. but if you have to used one ask for price. Can be a ripe-off.

I live here and it is ok.
Plus British are the one who burn the white house and captiol hill. LOL
make sure you get up early and get started if you don't you will never see everything, space center, mint, everything... OOOO when you get to one place to another ride the trolley it runs every 30 or so min.. have fun take camera
lots of museums and monuments. it's not as thrilling as you would think. no big skyscrapers like NYC. im not sure if you can go up the national monument (the tall pencil thing) but you used to. go to the National Cathedral and The Botannical Gardens. those are the 2 best things. I live here so i've done the whole city like twenty times and those things are still cool.
PS i dont know where your from but in a couple of months here it'll be burning hot (even more humid making it seem like 100degrees) outside. bring LOTS of summer clothes
i lived here my whole life
