Travel Info Does anyone know anything about living in Easton, MD? Travel Tips I lived in Easton during my younger nears. It's a nice town. It has a rundown side to it in some areas, but the downtown historic district is very nice. Brick streets and old buildings are all along the streets. During the summertime on the weekends traffic is HORRIFIC due to Ocean City beach traffic on Rt. 50. The weather, hot humid summers....cold winters with freezing rain and some snow. We have big snows (1-2ft) about once every three or four years. During the fall is a great time due to the waterfowl festival and the canadian goose migration. Some fun events in the summertime, the tractor pull at tuckahoe start park (10 minutes away)....if you have never been to one, go. It's a blast. A popular hang out is the greene turtle. It's a fun bar with a mixed crowd. There's a bowling alley and movie theatre. There's plenty of nice restaurants. Hope this helps! Others Easton is the county seat for Talbot County, MD - a place where many wealthy DC, NJ and PA residents have purchased second homes. Dick Cheney is believed to have purchased a house near St. Michaels - 15 minutes West of Easton. Easton is a 45 minute drive from Annapolis and Dover, DE. 1 BR apartments should be cheaper there than in the DC metro area. Single Family Homes have gone up in price but they should remain a bargain relative to the DC metro area. |
