To summarize it, basically it is about how DC residents will pay thousands of dollars to buy their own personal parking spot and pay a monthly fee to maintain it, just to save time at the end of the day by not having to circle around and find on street parking. DC is one of the most expensive cities to park in. That's why it seems it is more beneficial to buy a parking space for so much when buying an apartment or condo. But the article argues that prices for spots are stalling, because so many realize it's just not worth it to spend so much money on such a little space. Anyway, read the article, it's pretty interesting and useful to pretty much anyone who owns or rents in the DC area. |
