Is Washington Village/Pigtown (Baltimore neighborhood) safe? |
Travel Info I'm looking for an apartment or house for my daughter and I and a lot of cheaper places are in Washington Village/Pigtown. I'm wondering if the area is relatively safe as an up and coming neighborhood or if I should stay away. Unfortunately my budget keeps me from living where I want to live. Thanks for the help/input! Travel Tips no matter where you live, things will only get worse, its the way of the world, and i live in england, just the same here.influx of immigrants, making it hell for every one,but no one is prepared do any thing about it,nothing to do but suffer in silence.good luck. Others thankyou. It's full of thugs and prostitutes, drug dealers and what have you. My daughter used to live there, so I know. She was harrassed on the street a lot, but fortunately never robbed or anything. I used to worry about her every night walking home from work. Even just driving through it. They are trying to gentryfie it but good luck. It's a run down, rat infested, not good neighborhood, there is no way to make it sound better. Right across MLK Blvd is Ridgelys Delight...much nicer, quieter and maybe not as expensive as other nice areas to rent a townshouse (no apts. there). Pigtown is a kinda ok. It's an old neighborhood but crime is beginning to move in. A women, about 10 yrs. ago, was mugged, beat and killed over $4.00!!!!! And things are getting worse as time goes on |
