Best way to go from Baltimore to Washington DC? |
Travel Info Looking for the most prominent seesides of this city Travel Tips I recommend taking the train especially if you are traveling on a weekday. The MARC train costs $7 each way making it much cheaper than trying to park in a DC parking garage. Also, the train drops you right into Union Station, a sight in and of itself, but it also gives you easy access to all of the other places DC has to offer via the METRO. Others Neither city is on the ocean so there is no "seaside". If you want seaside go to Ocean City. If you're coming to the area anyway Baltimore has a nice aquarium and a cool "Visionary Museum". Washington has several Smithsonian museums, a great zoo, the monuments and the government buildings - although they might be harder to tour nowadays. Not sure what you mean by seesides. If you mean sightseeing, there isn't really a good way to do it without just going into the city. The best way to do that is to take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway (BW Parkway to locals) to west on Rt. 50 (New York Ave.) It looks like a frightening part of town at first, but that only lasts for about a mile. It dead-ends into the Whitehouse at 14th St. Take a left (south) on 14th St. to get to the mall. The museums are to the left, the monuments to the right. Be sure to visit the FDR memorial. It is hidden so people miss it, but it is my favorite by far. |
