Places in Washington DC?

hei I stay in Hartford, CT. I am planning for a weekend trip to Washington DC. I was never been to that place. Could you suggest me some good places to visit?

Visit all the monuments and some of the Smithsonian museums. Also, check out Georgetown; a lot of nightlife there. And check out one of those night cruises. Really fun.

I live in DC, its nice i guess. i always like to visit the capital, take the tour, and check out the museums. Defiantly look into the Spy museum!
The Lincon memorial is always a plus. And the Ford Theatre, following the Lincon pattern, it's actually still a working theatre. Mount Vernon (where George washington used to live) is a MUST! Vernon is stunning if you beat the crowds there. I went in winter and the atmosphere and aura that the place had took my breath away, there is a beautiful lake behind the house that is a great example of the wonders of nature. The zoo is great seeing as they have pandas, and who can't resist those cute furry critters? The battle of gettysburg grounds are awful boring, don't go there.
AMerican History Museum is closed for a few years. Check out Arlington Cemetary where you can also see Robert E Lees old mansion on the grounds., the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the WW2 memorial on the Mall, Capitol Hill, The Archives, Air and Space museum, Fords Theatre, and of course there are the cherry blossoms coming out in full bloom in a week or two down by the tidal basin and the Pandas at the National Zoo on Conn. Ave.

Smithsonian museums. they have all kinds, the natural history, asian art, huge outdoor garden, it's very beautiful if you're looking for culture and a nice day out. They're all on the same street so you can just go from one to the next.
