Travel Info Im in going to Washington D.C. as a class trip how much money should i bring.? Travel Tips I would bring American Express gift cards and some cash. You can get them online with your name. Others I'd say bring $200 if expenses are paid already (food, etc) but otherwise obviously more. Love Washington DC as I'm sure you will truly enjoy this trip! If your family is able to afford it, you should take at least $200.00. Museums there, for the most part are free (however, some may require a small fee--perhaps your school has a great rate), and there are plenty of souvenir stands all around the Washington Monument, near the Reflecting Pool. You'll find them on nearly every street corner. The souvenirs are mainly t-shirts (buy three to five of them for $10.00). They are quite nice! The Metro Rail passes aren't too expensive but be sure to be ready to purchase an all day pass for about $20.00. With this pass, you can travel by metro anywhere in the city and beyond (to areas of Northern Virginia or Maryland) throughout the day. It's a nice plan to have. You didn't mention exactly how many days you'd be gone for, but make sure you stay with your school's group, for safety precautions, as with any major city you'd visit. Although DC isn't a very big city, you can easily get lost, if it's your first visit. Once you get the hang of it, you'll easily find your way around. Bon voyage and enjoy! Was a student in Washington DC and worked/lived there for 6 years! hahah alot! like 200 at least, no more than 500 |
