Good park for jogging near by Gaithersburg, MD? |
Travel Info I live in Gaithersburg and I'm looking for a good park near by where I can do jogging. Could you please suggest. Thanks. Travel Tips The city maintains a park off Rt 355 called Summit Hall. There is a path around the lake. There is also a gym, pool, miniature golf park on the adjoining property. Plenty of adjacent parking. If you have time, I highly recommend the C & O Canal National Park. There are a number of access points within 10-15 minutes of Gburg, & the locale is jogging "nirvana"... fresh air , trees, the Potomac River beside you (20-30 yards away), nice flat , dirt trail , w NO CARS allowed. They have a great website, or you can email me for more info. Also, if the weather is ugly, Lakeforest Mall is open at 8am for walking. Not a great environment for jogging, but lots of space if it's cold/rainy. Source(s): Born & raised in Gaithersburg. Memeber of the Gburg Chamber of Commerce 20 years. "The Best City in America" Other Travel Tips Go to Montgomery Village. They have paths throughout the whole place and you can go around the ponds as well. Or you can go to Seneca Creek State Park (???) off of Clopper Road or around Lake Churchill in Germantown. |
