Travel Info
if u'v been there, can u describe it to me + wat some good places are. wat are the 4 best spots to visit in the Smithsonian?

Travel Tips
Expect to do a lot of walking, so bring your walking shoes. The museums are free so you'll basically just need money for souveniers and food. IT is a nice place and very clean. The cherry blossoms should be blooming right about now too so bring your camera.
Check out the Capitol, the White House, Smithsonian, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, WWII Memorial, the archives (Declaration of Independance), the Hope Diamond
These are all spread out so be prepared to do a lot of walking!

Others
Depends on what your interests are.... i loved the Museum of Natural History (animals, jems from around the world) and the Air and Space Museum. The American History Museum isnt bad either. If you get to view the monuments too go for it, you wont regret it. Have fun
uh all i have to say is ur lucky.
Having been to DC many times I'll tell you what to expect. Since it's on a field trip they won't bring you to the part of the city where all the bars and dance clubs are, but probably they'll bring you to Constitution Avenue where all the museums are. DC is a really fun place. The 4 best spots are: The Spy Museum, The Natural History Museum, The Newseum, and the Archives.
I went on a class trip there in 8th grade and I had soo much fun! I live in the area so I've been to most of the museums and memorials. If you have a chance, visit the Spy Museum. I hate museums, but this one was actually pretty cool. It's not free though so I'm guessing u won't go there. I also love the FDR memorial. It's along the Potomac and its in my opinion, the coolest memorial. It has "Water falls", if you can call them that, and it's a great place to take fun pictures.
World War II memorial is really nice, but also very very hot if you're just walking around.
Vietnam memorial is really really sad as well as the Holocaust museum.
Have fun!
Agree w most of the prior comments. My personal favorite is the Museum of Natural History, followed closely by the Museum of Science & Technology & The Air & Space Museum. ( If you enjoy exhibits of planes , space capsules , etc , otherwise you might be bored)

The Holocaust Museum is very informative/enlightening. A friend from out of town insisted on visiting it....I was reluctant, but glad I experienced it. (Not as depressing as you might expect)

The Viet Nam War Memorial is a MUST SEE , & easily worked in as it is outside between the Washington Monument & Lincoln Memorial. (Don't waste too much time to go up the Wash Monument, it's a great view, but not worth waiting more than say, 20 minutes for)

The National Art Gallery is a very popular museum if you enjoy art of any/all varieties. Some of the wall size paintings are incredible.

Capitol Tour is pretty impressive. I've never done the White House tour as I refuse to spend hours in line for it (just my opinion)

Bureau of Printing & Engraving is fascinating if you are into those processes. ( I collect coins, & my grandfather was an engraver)

The city will be beautiful this time of year, & the cherry blossoms should be out. It's not as violent/dangerous city as many would have you believe, BUT.....protect your valuables at all times just the same.

Drop an email if you have any specific questions. Enjoy!!
