Can we still enjoy the cherry blosoms in DC this easter sunday? |
Travel Info we were planning to go to dc to enjoy the cherry blosoms but we dont know if they are still there or not, please let us know thanks Travel Tips You definitely missed the prime day which was April 2. The temperature was around 75, not a cloud in the sky and the cherry blossoms were in full and perfect bloom. Then, a wind and rainstorm hit the DC area that night. It rained hard and the wind blew hard. The temperature dropped to the low 40's. The sky was gray the next day and it was still windy. The cherry blossoms were basically gone. Last night, we had snow. Not a lot but still enough to freeze any remaining cherry blossoms off of the trees. Sunday is supposed to be in the 50's but the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin are gone. Others Thur nite they were showing them on TV yet. Call George & ask him!! I'm guessing it is probably snowing up there right now- not sure, but hopefully they are for you! |
