Best suburbs of DC--cost NOT an issue?

Travel Info
I've seen some very helpful answers on good suburbs of DC that are affordable (or semi-affordable), safe and family-oriented. I am looking for very safe suburbs for myself and my family in either close-in (inside Beltway) Virginia or Maryland with good school district(s), price is NOT an issue. Researching these issues on the Internet has thus far not been helpful. I am somewhat familiar with McLean and Bethesda. But how is the Falls Church area? Are there certain areas there that are considered "better" in Falls Church? How about Arlington? I know some areas there are hip, young singles scenes. I am coming with a family and do NOT want that kind of area. Same Q for Arlington--are some areas wealthier, better, more educated, safer than others? I know it sounds like I want to live in some kind of bubble--and yes, I suppose I do.... Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Travel Tips
I just moved out of Arlington, mostly because of costs. Must be nice not to have to worry about it. Anyway, the "hip" area you are talking about is probably Clarendon. But it certainly isn't unfriendly for families. In fact, the adjacent neighborhood, Lyon Village, is very nice. In general north Arlington is the better part of Arlington and it is nicer/more expensive the farther north and west you go. Rt 50 is the north/south line in Arlington. Take a look at the area between Military Dr and the river. That's not bad. Or maybe the Williamsburg and Yorktown school areas.

As for Falls Church, some of it is very nice, some is not. Look at the neighborhoods along rt 7 east of Lee Hwy and then north of rt 7 west of Lee Hwy.

Finally if money really isn't an issue then McLean and Great Falls. Take a drive now rt 193(georgetown pike) between the beltway and rt 7. Yes, it's outside the beltway but not much.

Others
Great Falls or Bethesda or Leesburg, hands down.
if money isn't an option, you should consider the Great Falls, VA area.
if you like McLean, Great Falls is even better.
One thing you have to keep in mind about this area is that you can go 2 miles in either direction and the element changes...regarding surroundings and such.
You should probably stay away from Arlington, it's more the single, waspy, yuppy types.
If you can afford, you should send your kids to private schools.
Montgomery County in Maryland has the best schools. Potomac is number one and a wealthy community. Other good ones are Bethesda, Silver Springs, most places in that county. Schools in Montgomery County are better than the VA schools.
Have relatives there. They moved to Potamac from Silver Springs because it had the very best schools.
Used to live in Falls Church. (Fairfax County, not within the City Limits). Used to live in Bethesda and still work there.

You want Chevy Chase. If you want newer houses, lots of land, you want Potomac.
