What is club 9:30 like? Can I find parking? Can I bring a camera?

Travel Info
I'm going to club 9:30 this Sunday to see Lily Allen. It's too late to buy a parking pass for the club so I was wondering if it's easy to find street/garage parking. Also how is security? Will I be able to bring a camera in? How early should I arrive for the show to get a good spot? Thanks for the help!

Travel Tips
The 9:30 is one of the best live music venues in the country. I love it!

Parking--- there are no garages. Try the lot anyway--- you can pay when you park if there are spaces that no one has reserved online. Call the club at 202-265-0930 before you leave to ask if there are spaces left. Otherwise it is street parking; the neighborhood is a lot better than it used to be, and the Howard U kids will be returning from Spring Break that weekend so there should be a lot of foot traffic around, which makes things safer for your car. There used to be a lot of break-ins but not so much any more. Just use your common sense--- don't park on a block with no streetlights, and definitely park legally because the cops do ticket pretty hard down there.

Cameras--- depends on the artist. Call the club or post the question on the Forums at 930.com for your answer.

How early to get there--- depends on how many tickets they've sold. You can check the set times at 930.com on the day of the show to see when the opening act(s) and the headliner are going on. If you get there when the opening act is going on, you should be OK to get a good spot to see the show unless the show is totally sold out.

Others
9:30's not in the best area, and I know people who have had their car broken into. However, they parked west of the club, in the area of Florida Ave. Instead, arrive early, and find a spot at a meter east of the club on Georgia Ave (right in front of Howard University Hospital). Your car should be safe there, and you can head up to Five Guys or anywhere else to grab some dinner before the show.
definetly arrive at least an hour early! find a close by parking spot. theres a pay parking spot right across teh street, its like $10 to park and it fills up quick. the last show i went to was last year, Wu Tang, and i brought in my camera. i got searched, and the securty were cool. once you see the line geting long...get in! we waited for like another hour just to get in the club and the line went all the way around the block.
