How to pack?!?

Travel Info
Im going on a weekend trip with my school in the month of may to washington DC ..what do i pack and what do i do for the 4 hour drive down there.. HELP!

Travel Tips
-Don't pack clothes for cold weather!!! I was reading some of the other people's answers and at the most you should pack a sweatshirt.
-Also pack sunblock! The sun can be terrible, especially if you visit the WWII memorial.
-Money for souvenirs, drinks (you'll need to drink a lot because of the heat), and food.
-Camera, DC is very pretty and you'll always want to catch that perfect picture to put on myspace ;). But in all seriousness, a camera is a great thing to take.
-Walking shoes. You'll be doing a lot of walking!!
-Nice clothes for a visit to the white house? I visited the capital and didn't wear anything special so unless it's required....
-A bathing suit for the pool at the hotel if they have one.
-A small backpack/purse to carry around money/camera/cell phone.
-Cell phone in case you get lost.
-I'm sure there's more, but these are pretty much the essentials.
For the trip:
-book (gossip girl series is pretty good)
-Ipod/CD player
-Pillow
-friends
Hope that helps and Have fun :)

Others
for the trip there you might want a few snacks and a few drinks just in case, and if you don't already know too pack clothes than your crazy. but you might want to take nice dress up clothes unless you already are and you are a girly girl i don't mean that as a threat just i am not such a girly girl i have lived on farm my whole life
What are you going to do in DC? You will probably need a nice outfit or two if you go to the capitol or you go out for a nice dinner. You are going to want to take some summerish type clothing because it will be warm in may, but remember... it can be chilly to.. so bring a few of each. for your trip down there bring some snacks, a crossword puzzle or two.. something to kill time. Movies if you have a portable dvd player.. a CD player.. dont forget a pillow so you can take a nap.. 4 hours isnt bad though.. you will surivvie. have fun!! dont forget your camera and some money!!
Pack for warm weather. Shorts, capris, short sleeved shirts, etc. You may want to bring a hoodie just in case it gets a little chilly in the evenings. And most importantly, comfortable shoes. You will have access to the metro, but there's still a lot of walking to do in DC.
You may want to bring a dressier outfit or two, depending on what your school has planned for you.
Definitely a camera and money. Food is expensive in DC, but you get fair deals on souvenirs.
As far as the drive, if you're going with your school, I'm sure you and your friends will find something to do or talk about on the way here.
Lived in the area going on 4 years now.
try to color coordinate your wardrobe. capri's that you can wear twice with extra tops, one cute/cool cropped cardigan that matches with everything and a VERY comfortable pair of shoes - there is a TON of walking. on the drive - bring a book or music or -- sleep :)
