I am looking to move to the area? |
Travel Info i order to move i will need to find a job first. Any suggestions aside from Federal Government positions? Travel Tips The Washington Post has the best list of jobs in the area. Others That really depends on what your field is and what kind of job you're looking for. There are also several universities in the DC area (American, Georgetown, George Washington, Catholic, George Mason, University of Maryland, other smaller ones) so maybe that could be worth looking into. Or firms that are related to the government, i.e. law firms or lobbying firms - there are tons of them in DC or nearby. There are a few major corporations located in the DC area but not many - Marriott's international headquarters are in my hometown, Bethesda - right next to DC - but the biggest employer in the DC area is really the federal gov't. Of course there are tons of jobs with them in all kinds of different fields. I grew up in the DC area www.washingtonjobs.com So what is your field? There are tons of jobs in the area for all types. Lots of corporations work in the area. Washington is big in IT, Banking, Tousism and believe it or not it has some manufacturing in the Area. Micron has a chip plant in Manassas, Virginia some 25 miles south west of Washington DC. If not a Federal Job there are lots of contract jobs with the government. All major companies have something in the area. Monster.com has plenty of listings in the area, I too am looking to temporarily relocate there :) Good luck in your job search! |
