Shopping in D.C? |
Travel Info I have just one day in D.C, I would like to see everything this city as much as i can :) I will start to see the wihte house, However, if I will go that area i may going to shopping around, do you have an idea about good shoppingstreet around the white house? so i can walk around and have my lunch Travel Tips I'd recommend walking up 17th Street from the White House, then crossing over to New Hampshire Avenue and taking that to DuPont Circle, or just take a cab or the metro to that neighborhood. The lower part of Connecticut Ave has some higher-end stores like Burberry's, and the rest of the neighborhood has a lot of independant stores and boutiques. Personally I would avoid Georgetown--- you can go to Old Navy in pretty much any city, and that's the kind of merchants that are now in Georgetown. Others D.C sucks Go to Georgetown. Georgetown is a strip with everything you can think of; bars, mini clubs, stores (Barneys, Coach, Jewelers), restaurants.. Honestly there isn't a lot of great shopping in dc, especially in that area. The white house is walking distance to Farragut north which has a gap and filenes. Your best bet would be to go to Georgetown, since you're not driving you can just go to Farragut west and either hop on any of the 30 buses, or take the metro (subway) to foggy bottom and walk. If you're driving or have more time, I would suggest going to pentagon city in VA, its not far from that area. Union Station is the biggest and best mall in DC.....With a movie station. http://dc.about.com/od/shoppingmalls/a/u... |
