Travel Info Can you bring a video camrea into the National Archives Building? Travel Tips They probably will let you in with it, but...to be on the safe side, I would go on their website and make a little long distance phone call to their main office just to make sure. :) Others Here's their web site. I couldn't find anything. Maybe you can. Have a good trip. http://www.archives.gov/national-archive... No problem on the video camera. Lots of visitors take video of the Great Documents. The copy of the Magna Carta was actually handcarried to the US by a courrier in plain clothes so not to attract attention to himself. It was a gift to the US by Ross Perot. A "copy" of the Magna Carta does not mean a Xerox copy. It was handlettered at the same time as the original in the year 1215. You need to research first. Any one video taping any structure in DC is probably going to be questioned by some. Just a year or so ago, a family was video taping a local large bridge, they were questioned and the husband of the lady who was taping, was found to have terrorist ties. I would check first, just to be safe!!! they allow you to bring them in, but you cannot useit or any still camera, even without a flash!! www.nara.gov |
