DC, what is there to do while there? |
Travel Info Any suggestions from anyone that has visited Washington, DC as to what is there to do while there? My husband & I are planning a trip in May. We are looking for any suggestions on must see sights, museums, places to stay. Thanks. Travel Tips Make out in the hotel room. Go see dead people that are now on pieces of paper that people carry around in their pockets. Go to inside places where things could fall on you at any minute. Hope this hurts. Errrr....I mean helps. Others You can go on tour. Check out www.tourmobile.com. It'll take you around Washington DC - Washington Monument, Museums, Arlington Cemetery and many more. It's a Hop-on, Hop-Off bus. It has the most reasonable rates too! You definitely have to check out the Smithsonian, there's a museum for everyone. If you're into art you could check out the National Portrait Gallery or the Freer and Sackler Galleries, and if you like history the National Archives Building is a must see. When you get to the airport you can grap one of those brochures for the sights, they'll really help you figure out how to plan your day. The Smithsonian Institution is great, but takes a really long time if you want to look at each different museum. It's probably easiest to pick a few that you really want to see and then go for a day or two, that way you can take your time in each one. Also, the International Spy Museum is very interesting. Probably my favorite museum to visit in DC.
