Taking students on a tour of washington DC.? |
Travel Info I am organizing a trip to Washington DC from NYC. Anyone know of any good one day tours for HS students? Travel Tips Are you looking for an actual tour company? If so, I'd suggest you save your money. The basics in DC are free :-D You can always troll the Mall and look at the Smithsonian Museums, the Holocaust Museum, the Mint, see the White House, go to the Lincoln & Washington Memorials, and visit the National Archives. They are all in walking distance of each other. It's a lot to do in one day, so it might be good to pick and choose a few... or, and you can do this in DC, split into a few groups and designate a meet-up spot. I did this lots of times in DC and high schoolers will be able to handle it. But if you NEED a tour: http://www.culturaltourismdc.org/informa... Others Your usual memorials, of course, and all of the national museums in the area. My favorite is the National Air and Space Museum. All the museums are in the same general area so one day should be fine to get through most of them. Prospect Street. (Exorcist house), I'm sure they'll love that. And go to all the other stuff such as the Spy and Holocaust museums. |
