Travel Info My husband and I are going to Williamsburg VA for a week in May. I have an extra night or two to stay somewhere else. I find nice B&B's in the following areas and want to know which is the best place to stay as far as interest goes. We love history and anywhere there are museums but would also like somewhere quaint and pretty. Please let me know what you think: Yorktown Charles City Newport News Travel Tips Since it is the 400th anniversary of Jamestown, I would think that the area's motels might be filling up. You probably would enjoy the Colonial Parkway ... a nice little drive between Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown. Lots and lots of history there. The James River plantations might be of interest to you: http://www.jamesriverplantations.com/... Enjoy your trip! Virginia in the spring is beautiful! Others If you're looking for something more remote, try Charles City. If I were there I would go to Jamestown, VA which is just south of Williamsburg. Lots of history there. Nice area all around. Enjoy! I suggest Yorktown. Newport News is too busy and just full of strip malls. |
