Time to get out of DC?

I've had just about enough of DC and I've decided to get out while I can. Why is housing so outrageous compared to job salaries here? I'm moving to a city where I can get a 4 BR house with 10 acres of land for 250k. Here that would cost almost a million or more. Atlanta and Raleigh still have excellent housing prices compared to salary. Maybe I'll move to one of those.

Raleigh and Atlanta ARE both cheaper than the DC area although I still don't think you can get anything on 10 acres for $250k. Although you can still get a nice house in one of those cities for $250k whereas there's almost nothing in the DC area for that price.
the best way is travel agencies, they'll suggest whats best.

Raleigh is a beautiful city and is one of the top rated for employment opportunities as well as overall growth.
You think that your can buy a 4 br house with 10 acres of land for 1 million dollars in the DC area? What are you smoking and where can I get some? It must be mighty strong.

I do not think you could buy 10 acres of desert land in the Texas panhandle for $250,000 much less than in Raleigh or Atlanta.

If you want cheap property, go to the deep South like Alabama or Mississippi. You will have to go inland and not on the coast. If you have money, you will be living in the tall cotton.
