How much money should I bring to Washington D.C.? |
Travel Info At the end of May I am going to Washington D.C. for a class trip for five days. Transportation, lodging, food, and musuems are already paid for. So I all I really money for is souveneirs and possibly extra snacks or drinks I may want to buy. I am planning to bring $250, is that enough??? Travel Tips Bring thousands and wear it in a clear container hanging from a flimsy string tied around your neck. By the way, when will you be going. Oh yeah, wear a bright orange hat and be at the Washington Monument at 7am sharp. Have a great trip. Others $250 is more than sufficient. Be sure to keep your cash in a safe place. Take it in ones and fives but roll it up with a $20 bill on the outside and wrap a rubber band around it. THEN... every time you want to make a purchase, take that big roll of cash out, take the rubber band off and make a BIG display about paying in cash. The Locals will be very impressed with you. $250 is plenty... it depends on how many souvenirs you want. I live nearby DC and if I go in for the day, I don't bring any cash. The Metro is cheap, cab fares aren't bad (on the zone system), but it sounds like you'll be staying with the group for the most part. If you want $250 worth of souvenirs, you can find them, but near the Mall is not a big shopping district. Rather than money, though, I suggest you bring lots of bottles of water!!!!!!! |
