They have taxation without representation on their license plates. Interesting. States get to send Senators and Reps to DC. DC isn't a state. Others The district of columbia is just that, a district. It isn't a state, so it has no state capital. Regardless of what the constitution says, there's no question that we're being taxed by the federal government without representation in Congress. No, because it's not a state. It's the capital city of the whole country. It's a special territory that was taken out of land from Maryland and Virginia (for a while) and made a federal territory. |
