Potomac especially is where the big mansions are and is very wealthy. I grew up in MD so I don't know the VA suburbs as well but generally Fairfax and Loudoun Counties are pretty affluent. Others http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/con... Loudoun County has emerged as the wealthiest jurisdiction in the nation, with its households last year having a median income of more than $98,000. It is followed by Fairfax and Howard counties, with Montgomery County not far behind. washington post Town names- MD: Bethesda, Potomac, Chevy Chase DC: Spring Valley, Georgetown, Cleveland Park (all very suburban) VA: Fairfax, Alexandria, North Arlington (though all have bad spots) Of the 100 richest Zip codes in the country (see source): - two are in Washington DC (20008 and 20016) - three are in Virginia suburbs: McLean (22101 and 22102) and Vienna (22182) - three are in the Maryland suburbs: Potomac (20854), Chevy Chase 20815), and Bethesda (20817).
