Travel Tips
ok here is some advice, how many people? just go in with 2 people and tell them your "family" is going to be visiting because if you go to check in with a bunch of kids the clerk is going to refuse you service, it will look as if you are going to have a party....How do i know? I work at a holiday Inn and if a group of kids your age came in i would tell you we are sold out or if you had a reservation i would not honor it. i suggest to call around and ask first the age limit. 1800HOLIDAY for Holiday Inns or 1800Western for Best Western

Anyone whom is 18 years of age should be able to get a hotel room. Hotels are prohibited by law from denying service on the basis of age alone (as long as you have achieved the age of majority- i.e., old enough to sign a contract). If a hotel you want to do business with will not offer a room, ask to speak to the manager and ask why not- they will likely budge as long as you have a credit card for deposit or cash at the ready.

The same holds true for car rental- they cannot deny you service based on age alone. They can try, but you need to enforce your rights.
Try www.priorityclub.com, which is the Holiday Inn website. They only require that you be 18 or older to reserve a hotel room.
There should not be a big problem - how many people are you trying to make reservations for in one room? Most hotels limit you to 4. Check out the Chain hotels - someone suggested Holiday Inn, but there are others. Make sure you have a credit card, make the reservation on the hotel's web site. "NIce" hotels in DC can be very expensive.

If you are looking for a nice inexpensive hotel, you might check out the Hotel Harrington, which has larger rooms for groups, if indeed you are a group. Any hotel will want a credit card with a deposit. They want that from me, and I'm 51! Other than that age should not be a barrier.

If all fails, there is also a hostelling international hostel here in DC, right downtown. It's a great value, and a great place for young (and even old) people to stay when traveling (my husband and I regularly stay in hostels, especially in Europe.)
