Compared to average Americans, are people in the DC area friendly?

Travel Info
I don't mean people living in Washington, DC only, but also those in Northern Virgina and Southern Maryland...How do you compare the friendliness of these people to the friendliness of the people living in California, Texas, Illinois and New York?

Travel Tips
I don't think they're friendly. They're actually quite rude. I grew up in DC and now live in Boston, and find the people in Boston to be considerably more friendly here. People in California aren't so great either - very self-centered and shallow.

I don't think so..in fact when I was in DC I felt that was probably the rudest area I'd ever been in. However, I am from the midwest and we are much nicer here! HAHA
