What is the best monument in Washington, in your opinion? |
Travel Info I think the World War II Memorial is very well done. That and the Lincoln Memorial. Travel Tips I like the Jefferson Memorial. It's beautiful. There's a sense of dignity there, probabaly due to the fact that fewer tourists visit it. Instant quiet and respect when you step in. The Lincoln is always so busy and loud. I also like the World War II. It's a very peaceful, open place. Others I've always been partial to the Jefferson Memorial. Beautiful architecture, and the quote "I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man" always stuck with me. I'll stick with the Lincoln Memorial. It was pretty amusing. Lincoln Memorial is still the best! I'd probably say the FDR memorial. Especially when the cherry blossoms are out, the scenery is spectacular. The World War II memorial is also one of my favorites. World War II Memorial is so moving. Love the fountains and the tributes there. My next favorite is the Korean War Memorial. I think the Vietnam memorial is really nice - understated but powerful. The World War II one is beautiful, too. But of course the G W monument is probably the most iconic of them all, along with the Lincoln memorial. Oh, I miss D.C... |
