Best places to go in Washington DC and the times they are open on weekends? |
Travel Info I am going to DC over the weekend and i would kie to know! Travel Tips I believe the White House is closed because of security concerns. If it is open to the public you would need to get tickets way in advance. You can however get in to the Capital but be prepared for long lines I would get there early. The Washington Monument tickets are based on first come first serve basis. You can purchase them at a ticket stand in the area of the monument. I recommend getting In line for the National Air and Space museum along with the National History museum. There is very interesting things in both museums. Others If your talking about museums and such, like the Natural History Museum they are all open on the weekends. Opening around 9 or 10 and free to get into. Have a good time! Any of the Smithsonian museums are excellent and definitely worthwhile. They're all free and open on weekends - specific hours and more info. is at their website, www.si.edu. Unfortunately my favorite, the American History Museum, is closed for the next year or two for renovations but all of the museums are worth it. Also the National Gallery of Art, www.nga.gov, is excellent and free. |
