What's the cheapest hotel, motel or inn I can stay at in the DC, MD, VA area? |
Travel Info I'll be there next week and I'll need a cheapest place to stay, best answer gets ten points. Travel Tips I would say a motel like #9 or you could always sleep in your car! lol Others I recommend that you perhaps stay just out side of DC at the Woodfin Suite Hotel Rockville which is approximately 26 miles from Washington, D.C. Several golf courses and parks are within five miles of the hotel. For around $65-$100 per night. Or stay in the city proper at the Swiss Inn which proclaims itself the smallest hotel in downtown Washington D.C., is located four blocks west of the Washington Convention. For around $187 per night and do it right:) Either way enjoy your stay! http://www.mytravelscenes.com You can do better than the Swiss Inn. Best inexpensive hotel in DC is probably the Hotel Harrington. It's a bit faded, and used often by school groups, but it has location, location, location! It's located only a couple blocks from the White House and the Mall, right near the Metro Center Metro and Pennsylvania Avenue. Rates start at $89 for one person ($99 for two) which is unheard of in DC (Budget Hotels are generally around $200). The Kalorama Guest House is reputedly cheaper, but I don't have the rates, and they are not on their web site. If money is a very serious object, you might consider Washington DC's Youth Hostel - Beds run about $29 to $35 a night, and you might need to become a member of Hostelling International. Definitely one star but the neighborhood isn't bad. None of them have websites but I'll list the #'s below. The good thing is that they are within a mile or two of 66, 395, 495 all of which will take you right into DC and if you don't have a car, the buses run all along Lee Highway. You'll also be only about a mile or so from the Vienna metro station.
