Travel Info
I'm trying to play a Baltmorian and don't know their accent very well. Any suggestions? How do they talk? Are there any phrases such as "White Marble Steps" that I should know about?

Thank you thank you!

The phrase I'm goin "downy ocean howwwn!!" Is most definately a Baltimore term for "I'm heading down to Ocean City (MD)"

Most outsiders pernounce to Dundalk, MD (a suburb of Baltimore) the correct way. Most Baltimorians call Dundalk "Dundawk."

National Bohemian Beer which used to brew out of Baltimore is commonely referred to as "Natty Boh"

It's common among Ravens fan to belt out in a deep voice "HHHHEEEAAAAPPP!!!!" whenever tight end Todd Heap makes a catch.

"How about dem O's hon?!!" Is a classic Baltimore phrase.

"Go to war Ms. Agnes!!!" is a phrase that radio broadcasting hall of famer Chuck Thompson would use whenever the Orioles where staging a rally.

"Ain't the beer cold??!!!" is a phrase that Chuck Thompson would use whenever the Orioles would get a big hit (such as an 8th inning 3-run homer to take the lead), and or a dramatic win.

Some Baltimorians light-heartedly refer to themselves as "Baltimorons"

Most people in and around Baltimore pernounce Bel Air road as "blair road" (a road that leads from Baltimore itself up to Bel Air Maryland).

"Festivus Maximus" is a term that the Ravens players and the fans used to refer to as the 2000 season playoffs, as headcoach Brian Billick didn't allow players to speak of the "p-word." Festivus Maximus eventually became a nickname for superbowl 35 amongst the Ravens organization it's fans. The Ravens rocked the New York Giants 34-7 in that game. Festivus Maximus is a term taken from the sitcom, Seinfeld. Source(s): Baltimore born and influenced, raised in Maryland.
