DC clothing is still legal-eagle conservative, not like NYC! The trend I hate the most is wearing leggings with micro mini skirts (OMG looks like long john underwear!) and also the super, super short shorts that look are cut right beneath the butt cheek like a bikini with pockets. Guys are less trendy, wearing lots of shorts that are long with lots of side pockets. Of course, this is the high school and college age people.
Others
Strange as it seems, the teens in the DC area are wearing underwear on the outside of their clothes. This is club wear and not school wear.
