Anyplace in DC for thirtysomethings to hang out at? |
Travel Info A group of friends and I are hitting DC in June and I thought I'd ask if there wasn't a nice, casual place where we could go dance and such? Travel Tips DC is no longer really the place for dancing unless you are under 25 or gay (and under 25). There are, however, still lots of decent places to hang out. Rumours on M street (19th and M, NW) is probably your bet bet on Friday and Saturday for casual dancing; it usually gets hopping about 10-ish. The whole M street corridor in Northwest is where all the bars and clubs are, starting at about 18th street and going all the way down to Georgetown. The Georgetown waterfront should be packed this weekend (Tony and Joes or Riverside Grill). The Gallery Place area around Verizon Center (7th and F NW) should have all kinds of shenanigans going on starting around Thursday. Check out Rosa Mexicana, Clydes, Poste, and Gordon Bierche to start with. If you must dance, stumble on up to Adams Morgan (take a cab) and check out the bars and clubs up there. Others There are a few popular seafood places, and of course, some of the hotels with piano and band lounges. me |
