How long does it take to get from Washington DC to Baltimore during rush hour? |
Travel Info I want to go the the Baltimore Orioles game. What is the latest I could leave work in Bethesda MD to get there for a 7:05 game. Travel Tips You have a few options - the most obvious one is taking a MARC Camden Line train from Union Station to Camden Yards. Take the Red Line train from Bethesda to Union Station. The MARC train requires about 90 minutes + 30 minutes for the METRO so you might as well leave work at 4:30 PM to be on the safe side. The MTA provides buses traveling to Greenbelt Metro Station at the end of the game (I believe the 700 bus) and your MARC ticket is honored on the bus. If you drive, you can probably leave closer to 5 PM but you have to park and all that fun stuff. It would always take me a while to get out of town, no matter which way I went, then up 95. Listen to WTOP or at least take a look at their web-site right before you walk out the door. I would leave work by 5:00 if you want to get there on time. Especially if you have to get on the beltway, which I think you do. That is always backed up during rush hour. You better count on two hours. At 5 pm leaving work on the Beltway is bad enough - then going up 95?? Good luck! 1.5 to 2 hours easily. If you leave at 5 pm you should be ok. |
