Others Don;t know of anything cheap in DC but might suggest staying outside the city and taking the Metro, especially if you will be there on the weekend. Great way to get around the city and there is a stop at Woodley Park just a couple of blocks away. Have fun! I don't know if there is a cheap hotel near the Zoo. You could stay at the Hotel Harrington near Metro Center, then take Metro to the Zoo (about 4 stops). Their rooms start from about $89 a night -which is very cheap in Washington. I recommend this rather than staying in the suburbs, because you can take so long to get in from the suburbs, and it makes it harder to just stop by your room during the day and the like. http://www.hotelharrington.com my place is cheep. Do Priceline...I did it twice for DC this year and got hotels both times for $85. One was a Westin and one was a Marriott. Both were awesome. I would never book a hotel any other way. I go to school in DC and when my parents visit me they always stay at the Days Inn at 4400 Connecticut Avenue.. it's around I think $90 a night and pretty nice -- only a block from the VannNess-UDC Metro Stop - only 2 stops from the Zoo. Also - its on a nice street - theres a great italian restaurant/bar right next door and a good breakfast place right on the walk to the metro. |
