How can I get to USPTO from Dulles airport? |
Travel Info I would like to visit USPTO in Alexendria, VA but I don't know what is the best way to get there from Dulles airport not using taxi or rent-a-car. Can I use public transportation? One more question. Is there a good place to accommodate for 3 days around the USPTO? Cheap and good place would be better. plz help me. Travel Tips You can get a Super Shuttle from Dulles for about $30 one-way. It will probably take about 60-90 minutes, depending on time of day. You can also get a bus to the nearest Metro station (West Falls Church Station - Orange Line), check out the Metro Flyer at: http://www.washfly.com/ ($9 one way). From there, take the Orange line toward New Carrollton and switch to the Blue line (toward Franconia-Springfield) at Rosslyn. Get off the Blue line at King Street. Exit the station to the right and go under Duke Street via the tunnel, continue straight ahead toward the building with the large glass atrium. There are five main PTO buildings and there are maps around showing you which is which. Metro maps are here: http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap... There is a Holiday Inn ~0.5 miles from the USPTO, which is about $165 / night. It is right next to the Eisenhower Metro Station (Yellow line), with easy access to D.C. Source(s): Live there Other Travel Tips Unfortunately the subway does not operate out of Dulles. That plan is in the works and will probably take abother 5-7 years for completion. Your best best IS to rent a car. Downtown DC is about 20 -25 minutes away. Enjoy your stay. You can take Metro bus 5A for $3 http://www.wmata.com/timetables/dc/5a.pd... to the Rosslyn Metro Station. From there just hop on the Blue line (going toward Franconia-Springfield) to the King Street Metro Station ($2.20). www.wmata.com will have all this info and the maps you may need. The Travelodge http://www.travelodge.com/travelodge/con... is usually around $90-100. It's about a mile from the USPTO. However, Alexandria has a great local bus that's only $1 a ride and may help you out with that. http://www.dashbus.com/ |
