Stuff to do in Washington DC...?

Im goin to DC for vacation this year, and we're goin to Philadelphia and Williamsburg and place in betwine. What are cool things to do that dont include clubs??

In D.C. -

The Smithsonian, which includes a host of museams, mostly around the Mall, and they are free. There are a number of other museums, including the Spy museum, which is cool, but get very crowdedand requires reservations.

There are the various monuments and memorials, also mostly around the Mall, Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam Memorial, etc. The Washington Monument requires tickets, which can be obtained in advance or the morning of your visit.

The Bureau of Printing and Engraving does a tour, which is really cool. You can tour the White House, Congress. or sit on on the Supreme Court (October-June).

There are also movies, theater, and other performing arts.

Between Williamsburg and D.C. there is Busch Gardens and Water Country (South of Richmond), and King's Dominion, North of Richmond, which are all theme parks. Potomac Mills (Between Richmond and D.C.) is an Outlet Mall. I like Busch Gardens the best of the amusement parks and they have a new roller coaster, which just opened.

Between D.C. and Philly is Six Flags (just outside of D.C.), which is an OK amusement park.

Baltimore has a nice area around the Harbor and a great aquarium. Both Baltimore and D.C. have major league baseball teams.

There are also a number of civil war and revolutionary war battlefields in the area. Source(s): Resident

I was just in washington dc. the 19-25 and it was amazing! i went to philly and gettysburg too. when you are there dont really plan on doing anything just drive or walk around you will see so much! it is beautiful! you might want to go to the museums and see all the monuments, it is just amazing there! you will never want to leave! have fun! i know you will!
