Driving cross-country from Denver, Colorado, to Washington, D.C.?

Travel Info
Does anyone have tips on a good route to take for about 3 days total (breaking the drives into good 9-10 hour chunks)? Has anyone done this? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Travel Tips
Been there, done that. Try this - Denver to Kansas City, KS about 9 hours driving time. KC to Louisville about 8 .5 hours and then Louisville to DC about 9.5 hours.
This is good road, goin through scenic horse country of KY and then through the mountains of WV too.
Try gasbuddy.com for finding the cheapes gas along your route.
Good luck and safe travel! Source(s): previous experience!

I-70 to St. Louis, you can find some good rates on rooms near Columbia, Mo. That will be 9-10 hours from Denver depending on your speed. At St Louis, take I-64 east you can find good rates on rooms in Lexington, Ky. That would be about 6-7 hours from Columbia. Or Charleston WV which would be another 3 hours east of Lexington. At Charleston, WV, you could take WV turnpike south to Beckley and continue east on I-64 to I-81 north to I-66 east in to D.C. Or take I-79 north from Charleston to Morgantown and take I-68 east to I-70. either route will be about 3 & 1/2 to 4 & 1/2 hours from Charleston to D.C.
