Washington D.C.? |
Travel Info I am going to D.C. this summer any "GOTTA SEE" places. Travel Tips WOW WHAT A LOADED QUESTION. No but a HUGE suggestion, we were just there in April, stayed outside DC (cheaper) rode METROL RAIL into DC (barrells of fun) - Cheap -- map -- Source 2 We got off at Arlington Cemetary, went to the visitor's center (can also do this at Union Station), got tickets for the WASHINGTON D C TOURMOBILE -- This particular sight seeing transportation stops all over DC and you get on and off each stop, one day ticket $25 per person, 2 day $35 includes a tour of Arlington Cemetary, a must see. We saw people at 4 pm willing to pay $100 to get on this because they were tired of walking -- great way to get around DC AND see LOADS Source 1 Arlington Cemetary -- do this the last of a day and feel the serenity (Source 3 Mount Vernon -- to me a MUST SEE The Bureau of engraving and Printing (where the money is made) offers tours -- check to see if you can reserve otherwises it is first come first serve, same with George washington Monument. You can also take cruises on the Potatomac Check prices before you leave (sourvenors are more inexpensive than you might think) HOWEVER -- EAT at UNION STATION, most economical place to eat in DC, downstairs has over 3 dozen eateries avg cost $8 per person. upstairs you can be waited on. But spend the monies for the tourmobile -- you'll see and learn more of DC doing it that way and of course ANY of the Smithosonians HAVE A BLAST Source(s): http://www.tourmobile.com/ http://www.wmata.com/metrorail/systemmap... http://www.arlingtoncemetery.org/visitor... http://www.bep.treas.gov/hr/document.cfm... http://www.spiritcitycruises.com/dc/inde... http://www.bep.treas.gov/hr/document.cfm...
