How many miles is Baltimore Maryland to Washington DC? |
Travel Info Our daughter is graduating here in california and is wanting to live in Baltimore but work in DC. Thank you Travel Tips I suggest that she find a place to live near Camden or Penn Stations and commute by train. DC is 90 minutes away from Camden Station and 32-50 minutes away from Penn Station. Others 106.92 miles http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.... I used to live in the Baltimore/DC area. It's about 40 miles between cities. However, traffic is horrible. I would not suggest this unless she plans on taking the train between cities for her daily commute. If she works in DC, I would personally recommend living on the VA side of the border and riding the Metro to work daily. The DC metro is fairly nice. You plugged in Washington, VA and not Washington DC. If you've gone 106 miles from Baltimore, you've traveled twice as far as you need to go to get to DC. It's only about 40 miles. Likewise you can still pick up some Baltimore radio stations such as 98 Rock in clear in and around DC. As for the question, I'd recommend for your daughter to take the DC metro. My brother and I drove down from Baltimore to Prince George's county to catch the DC metro subway for a rock concert (Red Hot Chili Peppers) at the Verizon center in downtown DC back in January. I've found that driving around DC can be hassling and confusing, and the best way to get around town by far is the metro. It took us about 45 minutes to get to the subway station in Colesville, MD, which in itself saved at least 20 extra minutes worth of driving, and negated the possibility of getting lost in DC and winding up in a questionable neighborhood. |
