Thanks!

Travel Tips
One really cool place I have gone a few times is Mie N Yu in Georgetown - not only is the food wonderful and exotic, but so is the decor. Each room is elaborately decorated in a different theme - like there is a 'turkish tent' room (where you literally sit in a turkish tent among piles of pillows and such), a tibetan lounge room, moroccan bazaar room, and many others, all really unique. I would go there for both the atmosphere and the food. Another *wonderful* place to go in Georgetown that I have been to is Citronelle, a french restaurant which is run by Michel Richard, an amazing and very well-known french chef. This would be for if you wanted something really fancy and special (and a bit expensive - dress up for this place, jackets are required for men) - the one time I had the pleasure of going, it was perhaps the best meal of my life! Top notch wine selections there too. If you want something unique and memorable, I would have a meal at one of those places (I'll include links below).
Another thing I love about DC is the abundance of Ethiopian restaurants. If you like ethnic food, or are willing to try, I would go to Meskerem in Adam's Morgan, or Zed's in Georgetown. (Meskerem is more 'authentic' in atmosphere, but both are great). Hope you enjoy, wherever you dine! Source(s): Mie N Yu - http://www.mienyu.com

Other Travel Tips
In DC, The Mozart Cafe, 13 & H NW is excellent food and a fine accordion player, in back of a deli and shop. Wursts, schnitzels, warm potato salads, and more.

Au Bon Pain was suprisingly service oriented, and very yummy.

The cafeteria at the National Museum of Natural History has organic meats!!!! Very yummy and now safe. Pricey but convenient.

Celebrity Delly for sandwiches and diner meals extraordinaire. On Route 50, Arlington Blvd, just inside the Beltway in Loehman's Plaza, Falls Church. Best potato pancakes ever. O'Sari sandwich awesome.

Dixie Bones BBQ, Rte 1/Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, Va.
Amazing bbq, best in area, only virginia bbq place that typically shows up on 'best bbq' reccomendations on line and in washingtonian magazine.

speaking of which, check them out for rest. suggestions. I like to use them when we're going to a new area:

Actually, Cordoury, the restaurant right in the Four Points, is one of the better-kept dining secrets in DC. It is in the moderate price range ($15-25 for an entree at dinner) but serves food worthy of a much higher price tag; I had a veal chop there not too long ago that was amazing. Make sure you stop by, especially since it is right in the hotel.

Other choices in the neighborhood: Bobby Van's on 11th and I is a pretty good steakhouse and not hideously expensive; Elephant and Castle on 9th and Penn is more casual, serving pub fare; outside of the neighborhood try Dukem on 11th and U for Ethiopian (DC has the largest Ethiopian population outside of Ethiopia and you must have one Ethiopian meal while here); El Tamarindo on 18th and Florida for Mexican/El Salvadorean; or Sala Thai on 12th and U for Thai.

Avoid the chains, please!! You can have Ruth's Chris, Fridays, and Buca di Beppo anywhere in the US!
