What are the best places to stay on the Maryland coast? |
Travel Info Who has stayed on the ocean in Maryland and where? We don't have children. Looking for a place on the water, good food etc. Travel Tips I live in and have been raised in MD. I live just outside of Annapolis. There is the Chesapeake Bay and many other rivers, tours etc. around the city dock in downtown Annapolis. You can't beat the restaurants there. My favorites are Pussers, O'Brien's, Phillips Seafood, Maria's. These are also good bars for drinking/eating on the water. You can take boat tours or rent boats in this location as well. It is very close to D.C. and Baltimore which both have attractions as well and the water. If you are looking for more ocean like settings, then Ocean City, MD is oceanfront and tourist friendly. The boardwalk is miles long with shopping, dining and hotels all along. There is an amusement park at the end. Seacrets is the local's favorite and is a beach like open bar with a huge dance/ club place within it. A more rural but pretty place is Solomons Island, MD. There is less to do there so would be best for only a few days. Others The Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, MD Goin' down da shore, hon? Here's the scoop. Ocean City pretty much takes up the entire Atlantic Shoreline in MD, and it's a family beach town. There really aren't any great resorts like you'd expect. You know, like a 4-star hotel/spa/golf sort of place where people bring you drinks poolside. OC, isn't that kind of town. It's where you take your kids and sit on the beach all day. Lots of good restaurants, though. |
