Relocating to DC? |
Travel Info I just got a nice job in Arlington VA. I want a one bedroom or a studio in the area possibly on the NW side or the VA side not too far from DC downtown. The place should be accessible by Metro. I have looked around the area but cannot find anything below 700 bucks. Looking to move asap. Any feedback would be appreciated. Travel Tips it is possible to find a nice apartment for about 700 some even include utilities you should try rent.com in order to get the complexes numbers but they dont really update the websites so you should call to get the best deals. good luck Others ...and you never will find one that cheap. The DC Metro area is one of the most expensive in America, you are not going to find what you want for under $1000 a month. Your only alternative it to look further out. Ditto. $1000 is still a huge reach, unless you have no problem with the type of neighborhood you live in. Depending on your ethnicity, you can find somewhere in a lower income area. Obviously if you are black you will have more options as far as areas go since the area is 60%+ black and other ethnic groups sometimes do not want to live in a black neighborhoods. No, thats not a racial comment, it is a truthful comment, so dont try to make more out of it than it really is. I lived in the DC area for 21 years and know the demographics. I can honestly say this as a white guy who had a black roommate, and we could both agree that there are just certian areas the other dont go into for stereotyping reasons. White stay out of the hood and blacks stay out of mostly white areas, as the police profile the white areas and the residents profile the hood and someone of the non normal race has problems in the other. |
