Apartments in Washington DC? |
Travel Info I just got a nice job in Arlington VA. I want a one bedroom or a studio in the area possibly on the NW side or the VA side not too far from DC downtown. The place should be accessible by Metro. I have looked around the area but cannot find anything below 700 bucks. Looking to move asap. Any feedback would be appreciated. Travel Tips First, congratulations on getting a new job in DC. I would agree with Cathy, you should probably focus your attention on Virginia versus NW DC. The most affordable place I found when I lived in Arlington was the Circle Condominiums in the Courthouse section of Arlington. They are 1 block from a Metrobus and about 5 blocks from the Courthouse metro. The building is at the end of a cul de sac and the building is very quiet (while kind of 1970's kitchy). While they are condo's most of the owners rent them out. While they are affordable for the neighborhood, you will still likely pay about $900 for a one bedroom. You can find out more information about the building and how to find out about available units at: http://thecirclecondo.com/ Another option would be to go to the DC craigslist to find a rental that's privately owned. I'd focus on Courthouse, Ballston, Clarendon, and Virginia Square neighborhoods. They are all nice and have both bus and subway service. Good luck! Check the local papers in Va, and try and find a space in someones home, like an attic, over the garage, or basement apartment. My last part time dc apt was 2,500 monthly! |
