What are some interesting/original things to do in D.C.?

Travel Info
I recently moved to the DC area and am looking for some interesting things to do here. Things that are not the guidebooks or that really capture the Capraesque quality of the city.

Travel Tips
There are lots of them - here's my list.

1. Go to the baseball game.
2. Go out to the national mall, but not to walk the monuments or go to the museums. Instead to jog, walk your dog, play frisbee, have a picnic, play kickball (or polo, or soccer)
3. Go to the Kennedy Center - in the guidebooks, but don't miss it.
4. Go to some of the other fantastic theatre in Washington - stop by ticketplace on 7th street (at D I think) to get half price tickets.
5. Stop into Bohemian Caverns near the U Street Metro Station
6. Shop in Adams Morgan, or around DuPont Circle.
7. Bicycle, Hike, or ride a Horse in Rock Creek Park
8. Visit the Franciscan Monastery, where the sights of the holy land are reproduced.
9. Visit the way off the mall museums, like the Kreeger or Phillips Collection, or Hillwood, that tourists rarely visit.
10. Go to the National Arboretum, or Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

Other Travel Tips
Go sit on the corner and watch the drug dealers and murders. You know they elected a crack smoker for mayor. It probably be a great city if it weren't for a certain population there.
Enjoy a picnic along side the C&O Canal and check out some of the little artisan shops in Georgetown. Also it is rather interesting to take tours of some of the lesser visited government buildings such as the FBI, the Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court. You also might enjoy sitting in on a session of Congress. The latter can be arranged through your local congressman.
well me and my family like to go to Heins point, its a park. You should go especially if you have kids, go before they take the statue away. But i dunno no really interesting places just being in the city where there are things to do is fun lol but dont go too far, might get into some trouble and if you really in DC you kno what i mean lol.
Check out Old Town Alexandria on a Saturday and stay into the evening.
There is a walking ghost tour. If you are on the water by the torpedo factory there are all varieties of entertainment.
You won't be bored - EVER!
Try this place for food: http://www.bugsyspizza.com/
Pizza is good, and reasonable, too.
Washington Dc is a beautiful place full of history, walk around and go to places like:

Jefferson Memorial
Lincoln Memorial =]
JFK grave site
Mount Vernon =D [George Washington's house]
Tomb of the unknowns
Korean memorials
WWI and WWII memorials
FDR memorial
Fords theater and Peterson house [where lincoln got shot and died]

you can never get bored in DC, also go to the malls and stuff... don't stay indoors.
