What is it like in washington D.C.? |
Travel Info i am going there for my first time on thursday and i really want to know what to expect. oay thanks :] Travel Tips Used to visit DC a lot, I'd suggest sticking to the popular areas on your 1st trip since there's just so much to see. Plan on at least 3-4 trips just to knock-out the must-see places. The Smithsonian and the "mall" of the popular monuments is probably the most popular destination since it's compact with sites (Washington Monument, Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial, Air and Space Museum, Museum of Natural History, etc.). The Metro service is great for getting around and there are plenty of places to eat. It's a bit away from the rest, but in my opinion, hands down, the FBI tour is the best in DC. I wouldn't worry too much about being pickpocketed (unless it's by the aggressive squirrels if you leave food unattended!) Enjoy your trip! Others Expect heat. Expect a whole lot of people selling knockoff sunglasses and souvenirs. I'm assuming you are going sight seeing. Watch for pickpockets. Around this time the city is bustling with tourist activity. DC is like any other major city. Expect the metro to be very crowded during rush hour, you have an influx of commuters and tourists. Lately the weather has been mixed some days extremely hot others nice and cool, we also have been having frequent summer showers. Not sure exactly what you want to know but hope that helped. Native Washingtonian There are crazy, LUNATIC republicans running around foaming at the mouth - and they think they're king of the world. Watch out for the one in particular, skinny guy, thin nose, gray hair, looks like a monkey - I think his name is Bush. He's incredibly stupid, but he'll trick you into liking him, and then he'll try to get you to kill some innocent people. |
